Manchester United have set their sights on Netherlands and Inter midfielder Wesley Sneijder, hoping to lure the 26-year-old to Old Trafford next season.

Red Devils coach Sir Alex Ferguson is preparing to table a €37 million offer for the Dutch international, who scored this evening against Uruguay in the Oranje's 3-2 victory, according to The Telegraph.

Sneijder is seen by the coach as the next Paul Scholes, and wishes to acquire his services, only wanting to replace the 35-year-old with a world-class quality midfielder.

The former Real Madrid star won a treble of trophies last season with the Nerazzurri, claiming the Scudetto, Coppa Italia and Champions League.
